Description

This is stinkey, a Barn Owl. He got his name from his last lunch. Skunk. No, birds can not smell much of anything. So if you touch the baby bird, mom will take him back. Stinkey was caught in a barbed wire fince. We lose most of these because they panic and destroy their wing joints. As their bones are hollow, it dosn't take much. This beautiful guy was very lucky. He recovered and was released. I took this just before I crated him to release. He was making himself look as big as possible so that I would be afraid. Believe me when I say that I have a great deal of respect for these birds as they can crush every bone in my hand!
