UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

The Mustang comes through loud and clear in this fine foto manipulation, Bill. The aircraft looks great contrasted against the muted sky.

Great image! I hope you'll post the whole series. They're all excellent! The sky was perfect that day, and the Mustang looks great up there. :)

Lucky fellow to own that plane. Lucky you to have him as a friend. I wonder what that fly-by cost (fuel consumption, air port fees for control tower salaries, ground crew, etc...). It must cost a good bit. As for the photo - strange how I see the sky as almost painted. The lighting here is great - one can see both upper and lower surfaces clearly (no black shadows). Funny about "no prop blur" again. Same thing with a lot of debbielove's photos. Makes me wonder about prop speed in relation to shutter speed. And, D-Day stripes. I wonder what it's like to fly in a plane like that. Keep up the good work! :-) (Gee, am I repeating myself?)

Fantastic capture.

Nice crisp shot Bill, though I must say I do prefer a bit of prop blur, but these guys are so fast that it is quite hard to get a sharp fuselage along with prop blur. I note the gear is up so I'm thinking he is doing a fly-past, so he might be really smoking along, in which case I'd be shooting at a 1250th of a second too!

How fantastic is this!!! You have a knack for capturing the sense of speed Bill and this is good enough to frame with that background. If this was my mate i'd be forever sitting in that cockpit :)

I'd probably get half a mustang if I tried to photograph that. Re the prop blades... It also amazes me what cameras can do. Cool machine...

Beautiful shot Bill! Go for it mate.. See what happens.. Its through the owner of a Yak (and an RAF Pilot), that I get Legends tickets.. I'm hoping still (lol) for a flight in the thing! More like this? Rob PS: Legends news... P.47 'Razorback', will make its first appearance there.. :-)
