You might spot me at Kirra Beach, the South-Eastern end of the Gold Coast, Australia, if you like beach walking like myself... but there is more ! My son Jeff (*jif3d*, here at Rendo, it helps to advertise, ooops)... he took this pic of me in 2000, then manipulated it in photo-shop and it's still one of my favourites. Just very briefly about my past... *born in East Prussia; *grew up in Berlin, West Germany; *migrated to "OZ" in 1960, (not the Wizard of Oz) but...AUSTRALIA ! I guess I was more into '2D' since early childhood, and thinking that my son Jeff may have inherited some of my artistic skills, because he translated them into '3D'. I am hooked on photography, since I discovered cameras... that's it in a nutshell. BTW - one of my fav.quotes.... ** I cannot give you the formula for success, but I can give you the formula for failure - which is trying to please everybody !** that's a wrap... Cheers Brigitte.

A look through rose-colored glasses. A gentleman of the old school ... and ... she adorns, though she enjoys it ..... wonderful! Life can be soo nice. Sometimes I wallow in nostalgia fever. I am a philistine? NO Anyone who has dreams, has imagination Julchen

Oh my gosh, what a trip into the past with that cherubic syrupy old Valentine card on top and the seemingly coy response to the gift of roses in the bottom one, Brigitte! Brings back memories of my youth.

AMAZING VALENTINES

Beautiful vintage card! It´s amazing that they colored the photos so well! I still have my set of colored pencils for photograpy! It was a hard work coloring pictures. First you had to give a base of linseed oil to the picture, then you should wait for it to dry and then you should apply the colors with a lot of patience to achieve adequate transparency!

brilliant!!!

Looks like Cupid has gone Hollywood. A charming post card from a simpler time. Your time line is not far off. I'd say 1910-1920. I hope you had a wonderful Valentine's day.

Such a great show to see this lovely 'full of memories cards'. Love them, no secret of that, dear BB-chen. Ich hoffe du hattest ein wunderschöner Valentine-Tag; immer im meiner Gedanken, ohne Geheimnis, so gesagt LOL. Tschüss, meine liebe Ossi-Freund. ♥ ♥ ♥

Wonderful to get a flashback to a time of very different fashion and mores. She looks quite coy. I agree with Mark on the dates. I've been watching "Downton Abbey" (they've just gotten to the year 1919) and this fits in quite well with the clothes they've been wearing since shortly before the first world war. The hair of the lady is a pretty good match too. Beautiful presentation!

cool pair of love shots...back from the day when Love meant something.... like Bob Shakespeare, Will's unlucky little brother, had no go with the ladies... he went to the man that carved the figurehead for the naval ships, asking him to carve out the likeness of a woman in Pine... The carver refused, citing that such congress would be unnatural, and that, as he quipped "love is a many splintered thing". very sweet imaging, let's see some more... and more shots of your garden...for us locked in the freezer....

Sorry I missed this great valentine's day posting, it is so beautiful. Part of me wants to go back to this lovely era but part of me is very happy with these times. I hope you and Jeff had a great day.
