Going home from town yesterday night - cold, freezing drizzle landing on frozen ground => this, treacherous glass ice not visible to the eye. Treachery and bloody murder! I slipped some 20 times and it took nearly an hour to walk what otherwise takes 18 minutes! I took several photos of the side walk/bike path. This photo turned out the best as there are few rain drops reflecting the camera's flash. The ice, however, doesn't show well.
This morning was just as slippery. After a meeting, I bought some ice dubs for my shoes, by which time the sun had melted most of the ice, but... there were still treacherous patches!
Enjoy, if I may say so. I sure didn't! I'm still aching from flailing about on the ice.

Black ice is sooooooo much fun to walk on. I know I've taken a severe fall on it so I know what you are saying hopefully you don't have to go anywhere this weekend and you can spend some time recovering from your falls

Ice! A tricky thing to get a photo of.. I can see this is smooth as hell... Sorry you had a real bummer of a trip (no pun intended!).. home! As for your question on more pics of the Boeing KC707..well, yes I have a couple more.. BUT with at least one more show coming up this year and thousands of unshown goodies, should I lol Maybe one day... Thanks for your comments.. :-) Rob

A walk like this got me a fall and a torn rotater cuff in my right shoulder several years ago. At our age...anything over 50...we just don't bounce like we used to. Black ice is almost invisible...glad you made it.
