Description

I couldn't quite decide whether this should be in Landcape or Sea and UnderSea. Settled for Landscape as this is just a puddle! This was an exercise to use fill lighting. I'm slowly making my way forwards I think in TG2. Mind you, I think pulling teeth might be faster.

It has a nice soft result. Like the birds circling the ship. :-)

That model is beautiful! Do you have texture maps to apply to it?

Thanks for comment masonspappy, the answer is a simple 'yes'. I ran into severe difficulties at first when I tried to import a very colourful ship model. Being a newbie to TG2 I didn't quite understand how to get each texture in to the right place on the model. This one is much simpler, being of all wooden construction with only a little metal and with sail textures to suit the period. I am forever asking questions as I get deeper into the program and it's paying off. Terragen is a deceptively large program and there are a great many experts who seem ready to help. Having said all that, I think the results achievable with this particular 3D program exceed most others by miles. It is just going to take time and patience to get fully competent.

Well, I've downloaded T2 finally. Still have to install it, though. This is a particularly fine render. I love that ship model. Could you tell us more about it? I especially like the subtle sky in this posting.
