Description
When the elven princess is suddenly ambushed by a band of orcs, her bodyguard quickly springs into action coming to her defense....
This image is the result of a rather lengthy exercise in better learning DAS Studio 4, the Genesis figure....and its clothing and posing. I am uploading now it so I will stop continuously tinkering with it. This is my first multi Genesis figure scene, and I learned a few things:
1. The autofit tool is great for fitting V4 and M4 clothing to Genesis, but once it does it, you lose all movement morphs for the clothing.
2. V4 and M4 poses sometimes work on Genesis, sometimes they produce very strange results. DAZ has just released a tool that will convert M4 and V4 poses for Genesis and it should come in very handy, but I haven't tried it yet. In general, however, posing Genesis from scratch is not as difficult as it is with the generation 4 figures.
3. Mesh smoothing is great for dealing with movement and poke throughs in clothing, but it can really slow things down when you have multiple characters clothed with Genesis clothing. Best to turn it off once you clothe your character and then turn back on before rendering.
4. The Genesis male lacks a very important male part, but if you try to add M4 genitals, the autofit tool treats them like a piece of clothing and produces highly unacceptable results that cannot be shown on Renderosity! I did learn a quick PS trick to give the poor fellow the appropriate shape in his trousers!
All in all it was fun learning new things and I hope you like the image. Thanks for viewing and your comments...I appreciate your support!!
Nice detail in full size, feel free to ZOOM!

VERY cool action scene Marco! I think you did a fantastic job for your first! I have yet to play with DS4 and Genesis myself so your little tidbits of knowledge will likely be helpful. Thanks for that.

The detail in zoom is exceptional, fantastic textures, Marco! She seems to be in capable hands here, her safety seems assured. Recently grabbed the DS4 Pro freebie over at Daz myself but I'll have to wait until I get my "real" comp back up and running, there's no way this 11 year old pig I'm on now will handle it! Thanks for the tips, too, always nice when folks share their learning experiences with others, makes me wonder why some are so tight-lipped... ;)

Wonderful scene. So your saying the male is a Eunuch. Poor fella. I am sure Daz will solve the problem with the Genesis male soon. Oh well you worked your way around it. Great job and you will only get better as you get more familiar with the program, I am sure.

Genesis is really fun isn't it. I am trying the new freebie Pro version available a DAZ. This is a really nice scene and the poses are wonderful as are the characters.

It's a very realistic action scene with an awesome lighting. The outfits and the poses are wonderful. You did a great work with DS4 ant these genesis characters, even if you had some issues. I knew there's a problem with dynamic morphs when autofit tool is used with gen 4 clothing. I was also told that the tool doesn't work with shoes and it can work with hair, but there are some unexpected results with specials ears, like elf ears or monters ears. And the question of genitals with genesis characters caused some problems which are always not solved actually. I suppose the autofit tool designers didn't think that genital morphs could be added to genesis characters. that's maybe why the results were surprising. :D

M4's dangly bits were ah... shipped later... had to purchased separately! That's just so wrong on so many levels!! Especially when you get to explain that to your significant other.... Any way!! Wonderful image, as usual!!!
