Description

Stavros didn't know Evie was nearly done with his painting. He thought she hadn't even started it. The time passed quickly as she put the finishing touches on it. She figured it was somewhere around midnight or one am, but when she looked at her phone, it was 2:13. There was just this one spot she wanted to touch up a bit.... Then she smelled that smell. It was different from her mate's scent - very different. Her nose began to twitch and she looked around. She was alone in the room and it was so quiet, you could hear the proverbial pin drop. When she turned back around, a dark blurred shadow on the back wall caught the corner of her eye. Her breath caught in her throat. It was the shadow of a wolf. Again, she turned and there was nothing and no one behind her - just the studio. The shadow was gone when she looked again. Evie ran over to the window and looked down to the street below. There was nothing except the usual - parked cars, the branches of the tree beside their building and the street. The smell was getting stronger. Her breathing became labored as that old feeling she hadn't felt in decades began to come over her. Her body was pumping adrenaline into her system and she was turning. She knew beyond a doubt, this was what Stavros had smelled last moon...another of their kind...but not exactly. Silently, she called to Stavros, half-panicky - half-exultant as the change began to make itself felt. The brush fell from her hand as she let it take her. ***** Just a little break from the war :) More on that tomorrow night. If you liked the last one, you're really going to like this next one. Thanks for looking dear friends. Have a fantastic Sunday and enjoy your day! Rayvn

Needs more comment: So little girl is gonna go on a hunt it looks like. Wonder who will be the wolf and who the fox or hare? One need not say how cool the shadow is. So cool the way you have her sniffing the air like a wolf, with nose tipped up while looking at the shadow. I missed that last night. The loft looks great, nicely done on lighting to give fine color.

This is scary. Obviously she has abilities where she can take care of herself, but the shadow and nothing in the room, but she can smell it stronger and closer. What kind of strange were-beast is she about to face? Great work. Love the set up of the room and of course the lighting. Quite a painting too.
