Gorm was already at it when Gwidion arrived at the village. He could see Gorm was concentrating on the head of the bridge, where they were coming through. That would cause a real bottleneck!
The numbers on the bridge were formidable. Some of them on the other side of the river were already headed down the banks and into the water, realizing they had to escape the dragon's fire, as well as the ensuing chaos of burning comrades. Some of the fianna had noticed this as well and had broken off to meet them as they came up from the river.
As he flew past the village, he saw there were a lot of fires and a few stragglers from the Dark Army, but the humans and the fianna who'd remained behind to help them had it under control. It seems either Morgan or Angus had put Kelly in charge of them. Good for whoever did that. It'd do Kelly good to be responsible and invested with some authority! He'd come out of this all the better for it.
There were two battle mages fronting the Dark Army. One of them was already attacking Magnus, but Magnus had effectively collapsed his charge into a vortex. It looked like the other one was charging up for an attack on Alduin on the rock to the north of the bridge, but Alduin was dual-casting: damping Dark battle mage's staff, and what was apparently a confusion spell over the section just behind the front-liners. If there were any others in the pack, Gwidion didn't see them.
Only two battle-mages?! He guessed that Mog thought the sheer number of rogue vampires and shape-shifters was going to do the trick. It would be an issue, but they had to take out the mages first. With Gorm at work in the back and Alduin wreaking chaos toward the front, the 'troops' would soon be scattering and easier to pick off. A surge in the river's flow would cut a lot of them off, but it had to be timed just right.
First, however dear old Dad and Uncle Alduin were in need of assistance. Uncle Beren and the UnDead; Morgan, Angus and the fianna could hold their own on the front lines. The sight of the army of the Undead was impressive...galvanizing. He'd heard the numbers, but to see it was something else. Both Beren and Ursala had made it very clear that the Undead clan hated the rogues and wanted them destroyed. She'd taught them well, Queen Ursala. They simply made life (such as it was) very difficult for those of the Undead clan, who were far more 'civil' about their dealings with humans and Fey. The latter tended to assume all vampires were alike, but Gwidion had learned well...they were NOT all alike.

Another fabulous background from Arthur (adorety)done in VUE. As I earlier indicated, I was pretty much floored when I opened this up after he sent it to me. He really did a great job on this and I only added the wizard's effects, a little 'ground-fire' below Gorm's blaze and Gwidion "coming to save the day". Thank you so much Art! This is awesome.
There is yet another scene from this battle to come, also done by Art. I never could have done this and I am exceedingly grateful to him for adding this truly 'spectacular' depth to the story. I hope you have enjoyed it!
Credits: Gwidion is wearing 'Slicer' with Sarsa's textures for same, and is carrying the 'Knotted' staff with the bird skull (Staff Pack @ DAZ), which you can't see here unfortunately.
Thank you for looking, your comments and support dear friends!

The final result is excellent. I love the effects you used. You have such a knack for that and a skilled Photoshop sense. Gwidion flying in the foreground is just a great addition. I really want to thank Rayvn for allowing me a shot at doing this. As I read her story it conjured up so many visions in my own head I just had to ask to be a part of it. Thank you very much, Rayvn for giving me the chance. There's a couple images left from my end that will put the viewer into the thick of things, after that, I'm sure there will be a big showdown with Mog from Rayvn.

Wow, talk about teamwork. This is spectcular! I mean not only do we have the big scene but when I did a mega zoom in I see Arthur has some guys in kilts and beaver hats. Talk about attention to detail when it would have been easy to let it go for the big picture. The magical effects seem just right, big but not overwhelming, focused as they should be. I do like Gorm raising hell on the bridge. This truely only could be done in VUE. Writing needs little comment except excellent. Good to see Kelly getting a major role. Story flows beautifully.
