Description

Angel Island is located in San Francisco Bay & is accessible to visitors via ferry. It has served as a military installation & as an immigration station, much like Ellis Island in NY. Many Asian immigrants, mostly Chinese, were detained here for very long periods of time - some even for years. I liked the stark, minimalist look of this scene & decided to post it as is, but the creative part of me saw that large wall as a blank canvas & the story of the mistreatment of the Chinese immigrants inspired me to go further with it. I'll post that other version tomorrow...
