Description

Some time ago I happened to be ready with my camera at the instant this accident occurred. For unknown reasons the woman, a Peruvian immigrant, decided to run to the bus stop across the road, but she didn't see the tram coming. The tram driver did his best to stop; but couldn' avoid to hit the woman, who was lucky enough not to be also hit by the incoming cars. The scene shows the accident just a couple of seconds after the woman was thrown onto the middle of the road. A few minutes later an ambulance arrived, and took her to the hospital. Fortunately she survived her imprudence. Thanks for your kind comments.

OWWW! I drove a bus on a college campus for awhile. None of those ignorant kids would look before stepping in front of a bus. They just 'assumed' it could stop on a dime. You may have the right of way, but that won't save you if you get hit!

You were really in the right spot at the right time to get this one Sandra. So glad the lady was able to recover, and hopefully she will learn to be more careful.

This is not good at all I use to drive trains and you would often see people doing stupid things on or by the track, people and cars that would try and cross the tracks in front of the train because the don't want to wait a few minutes to let the train passed.. We almost hit a lady with a baby in a pram who was walking up the side of the track with her back to the train was so close must have missed the her and the pram by cm's. Glad this lady was ok..

You have captured the essence of the pathos of the situation! So glad she lived through it. We have all made mistakes and she paid dearly for hers.

nothing against immigrants but i see it often here in spain.people are maybe not used to the amount of traffic from where they come from and dont look left and right the way they should. i always say they cross the road like blind chicken (no disrespect) woman was lucky.hope it serves as a lesson.
