Airplane Thirty-thousand feet You don't see much Mountaintops Clouds lining up Nothing on the ground Is part of your experience Interstate Seventy-five miles per hour Towns go by Cows and barns Lake trees pastureland hills Interrupted by passing trucks And it's still "other" Country back road Nobody around Feel the air Stop anywhere Slower pace Small towns Linger in memory Walk the shoulder Smell everything Crops are thigh high Head high Dirt after rain Wheat in dry air Experience is immediate Stop someplace Rent a room Get a job Start a life Slow it down Until it's no longer travel Intimacy Is in the details Central Oregon October, 2011 Somebody's barn on a country back road On a sunny autumn afternoon Image and words are my own work

I remember this place I remember this road Two lane Away from the Interstate Thank goodness Fine composition with much to see...of course my eye goes right to the machinery:) Well done and well said.
