Description

"Rein and Fanta" Angora had asked me to post an image of my mare (Rein) who has since passed. Standing beside Rein is her Appy filly foal (Fanta) who was born in late June of that year (a long ways away from the January 1 date most breeders strive for). Her breeding wasn't intentional on our part however I will say both she and the visiting Grand Champion Appy stud who broke several fences to get to her, both had smiles on their faces when we finally got them separated. She was one of the many horses we had. But she was special and when she had to be put down she was laid to rest under the two big fir trees where she liked to stand and whinney. Hummm probably trying to get the attention of some visiting stud come to think of it. I took this photo when I was doing just point and shoots with 127 film camera. And I'm not great at scanning it seems ...lol.

What a memory this shot gives you Bruce, I think the story is both funny and sad, she was a beautiful animal. This is the kind of old snap we forget we took, then all of a sudden we see it and the memories come flooding back.

(but never would have asked if I had known it meant you had to go thru so much trouble!!!!!!! greatly, greatly appreciated!!! blush(!)) even to me she looks sooo lovable & friendly, a wonderful girl!!! and d.d. gorgeous!!! awesome color! to me this looks like the ultimate happy life!!! where lots of people postpone or even 'avoid' living, you had -and hopefully HAVE!- it all!!!
