Description

We were waiting the green light for the pedestrians to cross the street and buy a newspaper at the newsstand, when we saw this scene. An old lady was riding her bicycle full of shopping bags very slowly in front of the tram. The tram driver sounded the horn, but she simply ignored it. While every now and then a cyclist gets trapped by the tracks, or simply ignores every article of the road code and gets hit, cyclists play the victims and have the gall to claim for compensation. So far they lost in court. Thanks for your kind comments.

Great capture Sandra, and it is amazing how some people choose to ignore the rules of the road and then seek to blame someone else when something happens.

It is sad to see she is either one of these ignorant people that think they have the right to be on the road regardless of the road code and take delight in making everyone else wait for them to get where they are going, or is as deaf as a door post and just doesn't hear the tram. We get people like that on the motorways here that will do 20km under the speed limit and just sit and not move so you have to undertake them to get passed at the legal speed. Worse are the ones that when travelling in a single lane area go 20km below the limit and a long queue builds up behind and as soon as it is a double lane were you can overtake them their off at the speed limit and you can't get past them unless you do 20km over the speed limit. Then they slow down at the next narrow single lane again..

It is incredible what lengths some people will go to try and defraud someone else! Many times though, it backfires on them, like lost court cases or losing their lives in the process. Fascinating photo, Sandra!

She is probably old and simply can't go any faster. And it's worth remembering that if she is hit she won't have to 'play' the victim as you put it....she'll be ripped in half. No 'playing' will be required.

Maybe she was deaf and did not know what was behind her and i don't understand why people would not alert her to the danger great catch.
