Description

Here's something a little different from me... This is the result of a bit of messing around with a bit of lighting in Poser Pro 2012, and my first feeble attempt at modeling objects in Hexagon 2.5. The glass bottle and ceramic vase were modeled in Hexagon, saved as .obj files, and imported into Poser. I used the mat room to give the bottle the transparency, reflection, and refraction. I used a simple shader node for the surface of the ceramic vase. The statue prop is a 3ds file from Archive3d.net. And now, I have some bad news..... I am going to have to leave you all for a little while. Things here have reached a level of intensity that has pretty much left me completely drained. We're still dealing with the aftermath of losing Jo's mom. We still have a ton of stuff to move out of her house to get it ready to put on the market - and hope it sells in this poor real estate market. There's still a mass of paperwork and legal stuff that isn't done. We have rooms full of stuff to try and get rid of - our house looks like a warehouse.. And as if that isn't enough, now the situation with my dad's declining mental health is growing worse on an almost daily basis. He's moving out of his apartment and at the moment staying with his sister. He refuses to have any part of a nursing home.. Not sure how this is all going to play out... Everything is just complete chaos at the moment, and it leaves very little time for anything else. I WILL be back as soon as possible - you can bet on that. I still have a story to tell, and I have a lifetime of images in my head, still waiting to be realized. As McArthur said, "I shall return.." Until we meet again, my friends, be well, be happy, and keep on creating your wonderful art! Bless you all! Rod

Your modeling skills look fantastic Rod, really impressive. And you worked them into a beautiful still life piece. As you can no doubt imagine I am very sad to hear of your current state of affairs. You didn't get to finish off one crises before you got hit with another. Too bad your dad won't go into a home, it is absolutely the best thing that can happen to them when they reach that stage of life. Keep working on him because he will be there some time and sooner is better than later. Will miss you. Will light a red candle for you this weekend.

Nice work on your render above Rod...colors, content, light and shadows are all of great interest...and a place to pick up when you get back. We'll keep a light in the window for you. If we were in Kansas/Missouri we'd be right over to help you move couchs, chairs, boxes, etc...but that's a little tricky from way out here:) Will raise my morning coffee to you and Maxwell Smart each morning while you are off fighting Chaos;-)

This is excellent Rod! Well done simple models. I've had Hexagon for years and can't even make a convincing blob. I really like the still life set and the blue color/lighting. Awesome work.
