Description

We boarded the steamer and as she chugged in a stately and steady rhythm down the mighty Essalor Tymorg, we passed many more of the massive, bloated, mutant trees. Hives of sick and discordant micro and macrobiotic machines, left to literally their own devices, had produced these arboreal behemoths and the sound of them was like than unending cry, screaming in my mind. My companions however were unaffected by the relentless cacophony. Their own nano nets had evolved from the original Skrellian nanobots that had infected me aboard the Skrellian mind ship. Their microbotic networks had evolved directly within them creating a perfect machine/mind/body interface. My own microbotic network came from the same source as the chaotic networks that created the giant trees and they screamed in sympathetic disharmony with each other. I was assailed with a blinding headache, tremors and fever which soon had me all but totally incapacitated; prostrate a bunk in the cramped little cabin of the steamer. Though I could no longer see the malformed giant trees I felt the presence of each one like the heat of standing too close to a fire or the sting of a thousand wasp bites. It was fully possible the quantum interference from the trees could actually kill me, inducing random chaotic waves within my neural net that could potentially tear my body apart into a billion constituent pieces. As the steamer steadily paddled south the ruins of old human dwellings became more evident along the river banks and the enormous trees grew ever larger, their signals of distress ever louder and my pain grew with each passing tree.

I love the "mood" that I see in the lighting of the background as well as on the water. Looking at the pic, I just want to get onboard the boat! Not to suffer the way your character is, just to enjoy the ride! Well done, that Wzrd

Fantastic terrain and lighting. Pity you're too strung out to appreciate it :o) (Clearly you did survive to tell the tale...)
