Blood Machines My awareness slipped slowly deeper within me until I could actually directly sense the nanode network that suffused me. I created a direct link from my mind to just one of the billions of machines coursing trough my bloodstream and then something wonderful happened. My awareness entered the quantum entangled electromagnetic world of the nanites. Not only could I see with my body but like an astral traveller I was able to soar in my mind across the vast reaches of the continent. The mutant trees were like glowing embers scattered across the upper reaches of the great river. Beyond I could see over the mountains of Inha Sosul to a brilliant speck of scintillating light, like a sunbeam trapped within a diamond. Further south was another blinding light - these two lights were the two Skrellian mind-ships, both the one I had entered and the second submerged in the warm tropical waters far to the south. +++++++ This is a reworking of an earlier image in the storyline but it's now time for our hero to stop fighting with what he has become and start fighting the true enemy so I thought I'd finish the nanotech/body/mind conflict with this more peaceful image.
