This is the fast frigate USS Estocin from the other business end - bows on. Just above the tip of the bow the launcher for Harpoon anti-ship missiles or SM-1MR anti-ship/anti-aircraft missiles is visible. Above that is the bridge, then the radar dome and finally the lattice mast with electronics and communication equipment.
This is the third and last photo in the USS Estocin series, taken when the ship visited Philadelphia in the summer 1987. I appologize for the fuzzy image quality, dust and Moiré pattern on this photo. The negative was scanned in an early Mac scanner in 1998. The image has here been scaled up by 30% in Photoshop in order to see the ship better. I have other photos of a fast frigate of this class, with better image quality. And, visitors were allowed on board!
Enjoy!

Historic capture and processing techniques Michael. That is one sharp bow. Can sure see why even modern "tin cans" rock and roll at sea. Keep 'em coming.

No matter.. Its a great capture, for us mere mortals! One to keep for sure.. And no matter what the failing of each class of ship they all deserve to be remembered, and you've done so.. WELL DONE.. Bring one any more you have of anything mate! Rob.

Three faves for sure.....great set of images.I actually like the side-effects of scanning, gives an extra dimension, suggesting the age of the images.Excellent, on board shots would be great.
