Description

------------- The High Command

Colonel Callandra Everwhite came home from the War of Arrallon a changed woman. She had lost her Elven sense of peace. Her love of nature was gone. Her worship of magic and the heartbeat of the world had died. She worshipped nothing but steal and shot, blaster fire and bombing run. So for many decades afterwards she wandered assorted planes of existence, adventuring in other realms and fighting against unbeatable odds. In the end, she came home.

But in the years leading up to the Three Wars, there were dark forces conspiring to destroy everything. When Tarantella Belabra became the Avatar of Kiriansalee, the Del-Mage was killed,… the Avatar of Labelas had been destroyed. The Delsian people, the high elves, were leaderless for the first time in their entire history. Factions developed, and the old forces that had destroyed the Krell were mirrored in three forces that threatened to tear Meldinosa apart once more. The Second Elfkin Wars faded into insignificance in comparison to the Delsian Civil War.

Three factions rose. The first were the ancient bloodlines, the mages and sorcerers who’d always held control over the Elven homeland. They were the Loyalists, dedicated to finding a new Del-Mage and bringing the power of the Seldarine back. The second was a secret sect of dark magicians that owed their allegiance to Mordai and the Dark druids. They were known as the Cabal. And lastly, there were those who’d served and fought in the wars of the elves, traveling to distant lands to put down one threat after another, and receiving little to no compensation for their pain and their losses. They were the High Command. Some claimed they owed their allegiance to the ancient dragon Gods, as the Dragonlords of ancient Krell had before the Planet Shift. Other believed that comparison was nothing more than an attempt to make the whole Civil War look exactly like the Krell civil war that almost destroyed Arrallon.

But there was no cataclysm, no second planet shift, no mass destruction and death. It was true there were many battles fought and much suffering in Meldinosa, but when the smoke cleared and the last cannon fell silent, it was the High Command that had emerged victorious. Foremost amongst their battlefield commanders was a General who’d fought against the Republic during the War of Arrallon, General Callandra Everwhite. As the most widely traveled Delsian in the world, she argued for opening the Delsian borders, bringing in new blood and new ideas to rebuild her shattered homeland, ending their millennia of xenophobia and isolation. Her political career would be a tougher fight than all the wars she’d won.
