Description
This mural doesn't tell a story, it's purely decorative. Also an example of an external element that improves the presentation of the mural (in my opinion, anyway) - this wouldn't be nearly as interesting an image without the dog.
This brought to mind a song that I remember from my childhood: "How Much Is That Doggie In The Window?". It was a novelty song that was a #1 hit for Patti Page in 1953. Don't know where I heard it, since I was only 3 years old at the time & living in France. I was surprised to find that the song actually has it's own Wikipedia entry with some surprising information.
"How much is that doggie in the window (arf, arf)
The one with the waggly tail
How much is that doggie in the window (arf, arf)
I do hope that doggie's for sale
I must take a trip to California
And leave my poor sweetheart alone
If he has a dog he won't be lonesome
And the doggie will have a good home"
You can see & hear her singing it here.

Love it! The only thing that could've made it better -- a big cat in the window dreaming of gobbling up those fishes surrounding him.

I agree - the dog adds to the image - well scene and captured.

I like this one even better than the last! The artist has taken great care in preserving the architectural detail and incorporating it into the mural, rather than just painting the mural over the detail and ignoring it. What an outstanding piece! I'm glad you shared this one ... it restores my faith! :)

Fine photo Claude. As for Pattie Page's song...I remember it well...I was 13 at the time and just beginning a record collection. Got this as a hit single on a 45rpm vinyl record.
