Description

Part of the bell tower at Saint Edwards Seminary in Kenmore, Washington. I guess when the Catholics turned the property over to the Washington State Parks Department, they took the saints with them.

A good capture, Tara. Lots of nice detail in the architecture of this building. At least they are not missing statues from English cathedrals, ripped down by mobs during the Reformation. Most Christians seem to understand these days that they are all brothers and sisters, not deadly enemies, that indeed perhaps 'militant humanism' is a greater threat to those who hold faith ( in any God ) than centuries of persecution.. ;o( Warm regards, from a chilly, damp Glasgow, John.

I wonder who the two saint that were removed were or did they just disappear? I guess we may never know. Nice photo.

LOL @ Mike! A shame they're gone, maybe someone should donate something to take their places; animal statues or birds or something? Anyway, it's still lovely architecture, I wish we had more stonework like this around. Most excellent shot!

Great architectural shot, with lots of interesting structure, texture & detail to admire. Since it's now sort of a government building, maybe they could put a Democrat & a Republican ranting at each other in those niches...
