Description
To answer a few of the "old Faithful" queries on the last post. It is not, and without checking my notes I want to say it is "Castle geyser", but please don't quote me on that. :~)
This image is a scanned 4 X 6 Matte finish photo. Taken many moons ago in the Mojave desert, UT. Every March I find myself wanting to be on the road to photograph the Joshua Tree blooms. It lasts but a short couple weeks and never fails to astound me. The blooms are massive and many, to think of the water utilized, and to look at the environment... wow! Full view doesn't add much.

you got me fooled aobut old faithful...when it turned out to be a different geyser, very nice cactus here...I used to drive thru New Mexico and see those all over the places, they are actually very beautiful.

Very special image. And I just learned something...didn't know the Mojave Desert stretched all the way east to Utah. That's an area we haven't traveled yet.

What a beautiful angle of this cactus plant, and a great contrast too from the sky background. At least "he" doesn't have to squint his eyes from the bright sun.
