Description

Captured 3/24/12, late morning, while standing across the street in the Trader Joe's parking lot, situated in beautiful Cerritos, California. Better via ZOOM. This ornate bit of architecture sits atop the beautiful multistoried Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo law firm building, just one of the several professional structures making up the elegant Cerritos complex. Actually, I have tons of pics of the dome and the building, along with other structures in the complex, languishing, all but forgotten, in my 2009 files. Incidentally, Trader Joe's is adjacent to, but not part of, the complex. Adios, amigos, thankx for stopping by, and for any and all NONcritical comments.

Excellent shot, Harry; this is a really cool structure, and I can only speculate how much Cerritos has changed in the past 40 years! Nothing this interesting existed there in my day. I'd love to spend some time up close with my camera on this thing, although it looks like I'd need a hot air balloon to manage that. Oh, and BTW, I can assure you that the lady duck in my upload today was very much alive and moving so quickly that it was a miracle I got as clear a shot as I did! Must be that model's pose she adopted...

I'm making sure to type my comments out for this upload Harry and not trust my I-phone speech to text again. Now let me say this is so cool Harry, and I've never seen a dome like this before. Not sure what region of California this is in but I'd love to see it in person.

Based on St Paul's Cathedral, London on looks of course... But with a very modern twist.. Fascinating, but weird! Rob

Now, this I like a lot Harry. I was born on Long Island, New York near the site of the 1939-40 World's Fair. This dome is very reminiscent of a structure from there. I like it.
