Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Yikes! I had to duck fast! It was coming out of my computer screen! :) This is a great "toy" for photos and other image material. I wonder how long it takes and how difficult it is to do a picture like this. This is SO cool! I assume you have to cut away a good bit of the photo where the plane's nose is located. More, please. And what's the name of this software? :-)

love these photos, especially of the various X-Crafts

Stellar presentation in this posting, employing the mysterious Out of Bounds technique, Bill. After being dropped from a mother plane, didn't Yeager break the sound barrier, the first to do so, in this experimental craft?

The photo toys are cool too!

I like how this plane is coming out of the page. Excellent work.

It looks fast! :)

This technique gives the shot an added dimension - wonderful. I think (probably wrong) that this one is dropped from a 'mother' aircraft!!!

Great capture Bill. The X-1 will always remind me of Chuck Yeager and how disappointed I was when I saw him in person in 1966. His image etched into my mind was that of a dark-haired young captain and in 1966 he was a colonel and the commander of the 405th Fighter Wing at Clark AB and looked as we know him today. I stood about 4 feet from him while he discussed some Air Force business with some senior officers and I felt like a teenaged girl seeing her idol lol! Anyway, nice capture, I only spent about 9 hours at the museum in June 2010. I could have easily spent a week there - so much to see.

I like your style! Fantastic manipulation. A true star in aviation history.
