Description
Hood detail of a 1949 Oldsmobile Model 76 at the Auto Collections at Imperial Palance in Las Vegas. Back then it was considered an "entry level" luxury sedan. Equipped with a straight six engine and a three speed manual transmission rather than the V-8 and four speed hydromatic transmission found on the pricier models it still had the size and solid feel of its more expensive siblings.
This shot is over a year old. I was looking over my Vegas shots while getting ready to head to Las Vegas on monday; I know I had intended to post it back then but must have gotten distracted. Anyway,

In 1949 my dad was driving a 1941 Ford 2 door sedan with mohair seats;-) Our first new car came in 1951...a new 2 door sedan. Oldsmobiles were out of our price range but I knew them well as a car crazy boy. You can show me anything you've taken from this car collection and I'll love it. The green color and classic emblem really make this picture for me.
