Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

I do love those winding coast roads that go through forests and then past the sea; when I lived in the bay area I used to go drive the coast on weekends just for the fun of it. You've captured the feel of it very nicely!

Beautiful shot! How nice to have a driver so you don't have to shoot blindly over the wheel. :D We cut off 20 at 101 to go north, and didn't see this part. Probably not somewhere we want to go with the motorhome! LOL!

Oooh. I really like the "vignette" feature this has...the nice, shadowy edges pushing the eye forward, INTO the photo. It kinda does that "zoom" thing even when it isn't zoomed, but this is one of those shots that SHOULD be seen full size anyway. I love the misty vibe this has. It's the vague, faint, fog in the distance that grabs me the most. It's nicely refreshing, and very spring-like. I love the way it just pulls you in.

a beautiful glimpse into paradise, through a dark but soft opening, that peers into the soft & rugged world of the Pacific coastal lands. The swath of light that bathes down into the shot from the top is beautiful. I take it that scenes like this are common along the coastal areas of the West Coast. You capture them for us with great sensitivity, and your usual sense of seeing things anew, no matter how many times you've seen them. Beautiful inward work, Marilyn.
