Here's a fun little bit of trivia. Back in May of 2007 the "Firefly: The Official Companion: Volume Two" was released. Being a big Firefly fan myself bought a copy a Barnes and Nobel. While standing in line to purchase it, I noticed that my CG work from 2005 was used on page 36. At first I was ecstatic, but then I realized that no where in the book was I mentioned as the artist. This frustrated me no end. I contacted the publisher and they said if they ever did a second printing they would make a correction and apology, but that since it was such a smal run that was not likely to ever happen. So no credit, and no compesation... But I really can't complain. It led to other things. Since then I've become a contributer and design artist for Qunatum Mechanix, doing Stargate and Serenity/Firefly collectable work. It doesn't pay much but it sure is a lot of fun. It even got me a couple of gigs working with Jason Palmer, Jose Perez, Lee Stringer, and Ben Mund. And I even get an occasional request at conventions to sign the book, on page 36. :-) So is it my bane or my boon? I still wish I'd gotten credit, but at teh same time I'm very happy that people took notice.
