My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

The light was perfect for you, but then even in adverse circumstances you still make outstanding architectural pics! What a magnificent structure!

Ah, so typical of the turn of the century architecture! So much one almost drowns in it. You had good fortune with the lighting - just the right angle to bring out the detail work. Beautiful architecture, more durable than today's. Nice photo! Keep up the good work! :-) Happy Easter to you and Bill!

They don't make them like that anymore. Excellent capture. :)

Excellent POV I love those arched windows, these old buildings knock the modern ones into a cocked hat IMHO.

It is a beautiful old building and I can see a lot of detail in this capture of it. It is a good excuse to take another road trip to Chicago.

This is one of those shots that makes me stop and wonder where this building IS. I mean, you gave the address and I know that I've seen it. But I've just had one of those "Absolutely Fabulous" moments akin to the character Edina Monsoon walking out of a store with her best friend, Patsy, and seeing that their rented car has been given the Denver Boot. Of course with Edina being who she is, she simply looked at the booted car with a quizzical expression and nodded toward the clamped wheel and asked: "Sweetie, has that always been there?" I get that kind of feeling with this picture. I know this building; I've seen it. But I had absolutely no clue that I saw it in Chicago and so now I have to go looking for it. Funny how that works. And I have to say that I love the light and the details, especially the lion heads. This is super! Wonderful colors!

Fascinatingly gorgeous Tara!!!! Love the old stuff:)

Fascinating. A bit heavy on the ornamentation but that separates it from so many modern buildings. Nicely composed. Looking forward to our next trip.
