Wonderful pastel colors that blends well together. Not only a beautiful painting but the artist has a statement too! Everyone has his own opinion over what id hiding behind the doors.

Looking at the book on the ground I could not help but wonder if it is one of Prospero's long lost volumes - The Book of Mirrors. As it does reflect the world around it but there is something else caught in the distorted reflection something not seen in the world it reflects. Perhaps this mirror clarifies distortions of the world while distorting that which is clear. I was unaware of this kind of mirror but Prospero's notes indicate that some mirrors were not identify.

Il ya un grand silence et sérénité dans cette peinture, regardant la figure couverte. Un silence nécessaire,à la réflexion ainsi qu'à la compréhension de nous-mêmes et la prise de décision...est en fait une scène difficile! Pour moi,le livre est une métaphore intéressante d'un miroir, où l'énigme est bien Connu à travers l'histoire - des craintes, des mystères, des croyances et des connaissances - mais curieusement, ce livre/mirroir, ne reflète pas la porte...et je suis porté à croire, par la pose de la figure,qu'il l'a déjà lu et qui de l'autre côté,n'est plus l'inconnu. Il me semble,par sa posture, que la décision de traverser la porte,est déjà prises,cependant,encore la décision de la voie à suivre?? ou non....... La lumière est extraordinaire, Jean, et les couleurs tellement belles!! Comme toujours,une réalization parfaite et une œuvre d'art conceptuel,d'une incredible profondeur et qui nous fait réfléchir.Une œuvre d'un Maître. Bravo.

J'aime beaucoup la couleur identique pour la porte et le grand livre. Ce livre qui mène à la connaissance (le reflet à l'intérieur) et qui mène à la voie qui se trouve derrière la porte ! Ce philosophe a trouvé la voie, il lui reste à ouvrir la porte !

La porte et le livre me semblent être de faux reflets l'un de l'autre. La porte est fermée, le livre est ouvert. Derrière la porte se cache une réalité tangible (vulgaire?), alors que la baguette du philosophe vers le livre semble le conduire et nous conduire vers autre chose, peut-être la vérité plutôt que la réalité. Faut-il pousser la porte? Pour le philosophe, la réponse est sans doute non! Superbe oeuvre méditative!
