Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

as with tara (a minute ago), I wanted to make at least one comment in your gallery, with the promise that I'll return for more in a week or two. I wanted to communicate in your gallery (and not just in letters), because of all you've given the world here. As I've said, Bill, this is glorious: The surrounding trees are wonderfully vertical, like broad brush-strokes made by nature. You've captured the royal "loom" of the redwood forest, as well as its immense light. And "light" is a big deal: Because with these huge trunks, one wouldn't always expect such light: But it's glorious, isn't it; a light you've caught in this whole series. Then, it's punctuated with verdant, verdant, verdant...the floor is doubly verdant, a carpet which you've presented with enough detail to feel the leaves, but with enough unity to feel a "carpet". And then there's the 'centerpiece': that big open tree-trunk, which---yes---does evoke senses of long-lost tales. Your pov lets us see the backside of the trunk, which looks like portions of a grand cathedral, only old, in ruin and overrun. (Like the trees & moss at Angkor Wat and Thom, as seen in Mark's wonderful offerings recently, ie, wysiwig). A lush and wholly mysterious shot, and just the beginning of a beautiful series. I'll be back for more, but it was time to honor you here. A beautiful piece, and very plush, and wholly worthy of your eye...

Lovely photo with this lush ground cover but always sad to see one of these giants have fallen. The moss has taken over and most likely some small critters have moved in!
