Description

I found this amazing photo of a burning oil rig on the internet and decided to pose some Thunderbirds models with it. TB1 is my own model built in Truespace with the wings from another TB1 model which was okay but not what I wanted. TB2 and TB4 are Newil's excellent models. The little helicopter is my own HO3S1. The scene was added as a texture to a vertical plane and inserted into the water, then the models were posed in front of it. A second image was rendered without TB2 and the chopper to allow me to create a distance effect later when doing postwork. I like it, hope you do too. Thanks for looking. Iain ^_^

When I was looking for photos of oil rigs on fire I was looking for one at night to replicate that scene from the movie but with the classic craft... but none of the pics I saw were of a high enough resolution. I don't think I could create a scene using models myself... creating realistic fire effects is something I'm not too good at just yet. ^_^

Wonderful work on this. I have the series box set here and it brigs back so many childhood memories, as does your image. I'd love to see UFO at some point too. Fantastic and a real fav!
