Description

I have been on a real model making run recently (as opposed to CGI modelling) and thought I would post my version of the first Airfix Angel Interceptor box art. I used BillyHome's beautiful Angel (which is a lot more accurate than the Airfix model kit) and tried to replicate the exciting box art. It's not my best work, but I'm happy with it ^_^ Thanks for looking, and for all the comments I've received over the years. My lack of output is due to a knackered PC, which works when it wants to... hopefully be getting a new one some time in the not-too-distant future.

great render, I remember seeing the original box in the toystore 38 years ago. I always loved the paintings on those airfixboxes.

I not only remember seeing it, I remember making the kit!! A great tribute to a much loved form of 3D model making!

I really wanted to get back to making real models again - as much as I love CG modelling, making something which can sit on the shelf and makes happy is more important. Airfix reissued the kit this year and kept the same artwork, although there are some little CGI tweaks, such as fuselage stencil data and the like. The model itself is the same one we remember, complete with male pilot. Silly Airfix!

Great mock-up of Airfix model box art! The BillyHomes model looks good and your effects and layout are nice and authentic-looking. Fun project - hope your PC gets well soon!

Ah mate, I know how that feels. I had to stop animating because the computer I had at the time was dying. Now I've got a new one but I don't have time! Great concept and execution here, brings back memories of airfix models and tubes of glue.

This program along with Thunderbirds and UFO were favourties of mine as a kid. I'm tempted to take up model making again too. Can't believe Airfix put a male pilot in this though, do they not research lol. Nice work, thanks for posting :)

Nice, it does have the style and look that the boxes for these kinds of models always feature. Good work!
