Description

Having more fun than an earthling should be allowed to have. The lower section of my condominium staircase wall, captured 4/13/12, around 8:30 AM. Stunningly ZOOM worthy. Okay, mea culpa, I posted a similar foto of this on April 7, 2012, but this time I caught it with still more shadows on display, so I couldn't resist doing a reprise, plus variations to sweeten the pot. Original on top, with haunting grunge on the bottom. Cheerybye, thankx for clicking on, and for any and all favs and noncritical comments.

If we can't play what good is life, eh? This is great and fun work, Harry; I'm taken by the bottom two in particular. Number four has a cartoon feel to it that really appeals to me, and I love the depth of the grunge on number five. Well done!

Hard to pick a fave here, I like them all. I guess I would have to take number 2. No, number 4. 4 gets the gold star, all the rest silver stars. Awesome collage.

Shade from shades...very fitting and creative. It does look even more dramatic at the zoom...cool.

All five images in this collage contain spectacular light, shadows and an amazing selection of textures. Excellent posting Harry!

I remember the earlier version (and loved it) but this one is different, as you say. It has more shadows, it has more contrasts, and you have 2 big bold lines of light on the far left---which give it a whole different look. The first one is soft & modulated, an abstract of many lines. (With hue variations throughout.) The second is intensified, still very real, just heightened. (Powerfully, I might add.) The third looks like an inversion, though it's subtle, and it has an real air about it, itself. (I really like it. It looks like you've modified and softened the inversion, it's very introspective.) The fourth, I see edge work, getting into graphics territory, or even 'mezzo-tint' (which maybe you worked with in your illustration days). And I like how you highlighted some of the middle bands with white: A terrific choice! It's on the switch-plate too...And the last one---yeah, it's grunge, but it's actually very subtle for grunge, and it has another introspective-inward air which draws me in quite deeply. It's almost the beginning of a new journey. (Really, for grunge---which is often a fun, slapdash mess of a filter job---you've created something very painterly & thoughtful.) A really thoughtful bunch, Harry, and the kind of shadow/light/texture area that is rich enough to be seen many times a day, and worthy of more than one photo, as you show with these two uploads...
