Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

That rock looks like a geologist's dream...layered and tilting. Neat pic!

That water looks so inviting. I'm suitably jealous! I hope everything works out with the little guy.

fine choice to have the rock only visible in its lower portions, and the water spread out before it like a grand mirror. The photo's serene, vast, mysterious, and the green hues in reflection, and the white of the sky are fine contrasts with everything else. WIth your previous shot---even more bold in its compositional choice---you've made creative use of a beautiful vista. Really nice seeing, Marilyn. You always find the 'new' vista and the revealing one. Your eye never rests.

I'm a bit late with commenting, but I'm still holding positive doggy thoughts! And as for this shot! WOW! OOooooh! The water is so nicely alive in that nicely green color. It kinda makes me think Rusalki (kinda bad-ass water nymphs with Russian accents) might live in that there river: they're not the kind who sit on rocks, singing and combing their hair. No, they're...um...they're the riot-grrls of the water nymph world and they like calm water. And now that I've rambled, this is really superb. I love the restful vibe and the clarity of that water. The rock is quite interesting as well!
