Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Who needs to see the boat - the mental image of one is conveyed by the oar. A super composition, Clive

Oh, this is super! That water looks so inviting, at least in terms of being calm and peaceful and relaxing. I like the sound of water when oars are making that sloshing sound right at the end of the stroke before you raise them up and swing back to the start of the next stroke. That's such a cool sound. That's what relaxation sounds like. The colors in this are really superb. They're crisp and clear and so well caught. (I just chatted with Pavl, and for some reason I got him stuck in my head and I could imagine him saying: "What, no ducks?") I'm also glad for the good news. Doggy angels are nice! I like them and kitty-angels too.

Love the composition and colors. I agree with Clive ... the boat is there!

this is what I'm talking about, re creative choices. You took a portion of the big rock, a little chunk of background trees/hills, a big spread of that luscious green water, and a piece of the oar---without ever showing the oar-er, the boat, the person, etc. A snippet out of a whole, and it's new & revealing. And the texture in the water, here, is gorgeous. Like a sheet of light or molten silk. Beautiful, and very creative, again.
