Hello! My name is Jodie. I live in Minnesota where the temps can fluxuate by 20 degrees in one day. Most of my photos have been taken very close to my home, a 10 acre hobby farm., where I raise Alpacas and chickens. I am a band director, a musician/singer and a photographer/adviser on the yearbook committee. My camera of choice is a Nikon. I have a D90 and a D70. I also have a SB800 flash and favorite lens is Nikon 18-200mm AF-S, with VR. Revisiting the visual arts is something I should have done years ago. If I see something remarkable, I just try to capture it. Nobody else will ever see it quite that way again so I hope you try that, too. This is just like expensive therapy for us. Thank you for visiting and may you have a peaceful day!

Beautiful! What an amazing talent you've cultivated with your photography. It has been amazing to (how can I resist) "blossom" over the last few years. Thanks for sharing.

Superb capture Jodie. God Bless.

Beautiful and striking colors and lighting effects in this stellar composition, Jodie! As for the departure of Winter your way, we really never had one this season in Southern California. Moderate temperatures and a paucity of rain is all we received.

What beautiful colors They blend together perfectly Hugs Susan~

I've spoken of your light in the past, and this is a fine example of it: It's powerful but soft, all-present but subtle, it has the feeling of silk as much as of light, and it moves with great ease across the image. This must be seen zoomed to get the impact (zoom's a must): It's an in medias res shot which doesn't fall pray, to my eyes, to the problems with such shots (where, because one starts 'in the middle of things," one loses any focus from the start). This, with all its randomness, holds together beautifully for me, in the shooting verticals throughout, in the caressing light (it breaks through at top beautifully), in the way the pinkish petals---in the back-right---curl around one of the sheaths, in the way the bluish bulbs in front follow in line with the stalks, and in the way the daffodil pokes through like a ray of sunlight. But the biggest thing, still, is that light: Can't put the words to it, though you've done it in image after image (I've spoken of it in your theatrical images too.) Here it's just this overall 'gown'. Quiet & exuberant, simple as could be but graced with a light from within, subtle but beauteous, and another of your presentations of something inward out of something outward. Very glowing piece.
