Hello! My name is Jodie. I live in Minnesota where the temps can fluxuate by 20 degrees in one day. Most of my photos have been taken very close to my home, a 10 acre hobby farm., where I raise Alpacas and chickens. I am a band director, a musician/singer and a photographer/adviser on the yearbook committee. My camera of choice is a Nikon. I have a D90 and a D70. I also have a SB800 flash and favorite lens is Nikon 18-200mm AF-S, with VR. Revisiting the visual arts is something I should have done years ago. If I see something remarkable, I just try to capture it. Nobody else will ever see it quite that way again so I hope you try that, too. This is just like expensive therapy for us. Thank you for visiting and may you have a peaceful day!

OMG, what sorcery is this? Terrific bit of articulation in this novel image, Jodie! In contrast, if this was my assignment I would have used automobiles as subject matter.

brilliant work!!! I sure don't miss the film days, I am glad I had the experience of learning the process, the chemicals baths, and all that fun stuff lol. What a difference photography is now, much more fun in my opinion. Happy Mothers day to you!!

I thought I had commented on this, but I see I didn't. But what I wanted to say when I saw this the first time, was that I know how much work it takes to make these types of images. If you didn't work hard on the filmstrip, I assume it's because you have much experience at such things; because it can be hard not only choosing the appropriate images (given that it's supposed to represent your school, your students, etc, and you want to choose the right images for that), but also to be sure the bends in the strip do justice to the images and don't distort them too much, etc. As for the time the gradient took, also understood: In projects like this, a lot of time can go into the seemingly smallest or simplest tasks, and sometimes just picking the right starter-hues can take some time. (In many of my past graphic assignments, I could spend a night going through every hue in the spectrum before I got the 'right' one.) It's an easeful natural piece, showing none of the labor involved, and your shadow and background hues are gentle and peaceful. Very gentle work, and the labor is nowhere visible (which, as you know, is a key to all fine art). Also, I can honestly say I've never had my work on an invoice before! I've even gotten onto ticket stubs (there's a goal to aim for!), but never an invoice...
