Description

Back in early October, when we were still wandering around the midwest chasing autumn across the prairie, we stayed in the most amazing bed and breakfast in Illinois. After four days in downtown Chicago, with all the people and the excitement and the yummy times with Chip, Corey and Yvonne, we headed back out to the country and spent two nights in a converted corn silo. I posted one picture at the time ... Sleeping in a Silo ... but never followed up with further images. Sleeping in a Silo looked up the stairs, and this one looks back down. That's the front door with a built-in bench and coathooks to the right. Continuing around you would come to the living area, then the kitchen, and then another door under the stairs that led to the bathroom. I've got a couple more ... it was such a cool place!

I remember your first foto and knew when I saw this title, it would be another one. I think I like this one more, something about that downward angle. What a great place!!

It does sound like an interesting place to stay. These stairs look steep to get down though in the night....

What in intriguing place, Tara, Almost a nautical theme to it all as well - thought it was a lighthouse at first. Clive

I remember that photo - this looks like a super-fun place to stay! Love the POV on this, Tara! What a cool idea to make a B&B out of a grain silo - we may have to go there sometime just for the experience!

in addition to the dramatic turn of the stairs and all the other curves---making a kind of deep pot or cavern out of the shot---there's the play of beautiful light, esp in the deep reds, reddish browns, pinks and that greenish-gray hue of the wall; and some beautiful light, both in the reflections on the upper wall as well as your beautiful choice to include the light coming through the door-viewer with the flare around it...a beautiful touch. And there's a soft glow to the image which makes it seem like it's inviting us into a lair. Another beautiful shot of an intimate enclosure from you, just as you do with other enclosures (incl your flowers)...and very open & inviting at the same time. Beautiful work in difficult spaces...
