Description

Almost exactly two years ago Bill and I took our first motorhome trip together in a rented rig. Our first stop was Fort Worden in Port Townsend, Washington. We said at the time we wanted to come back when we had more than one day to spend exploring this fascinating place. So now we're back! Our own rig, unlimited time, and some beautiful scenery ahead of us. We plan on staying here at Fort Worden for four days, and then moving west along the north coast of Washington toward Neah Bay. Let's see ... we got here on Monday, and this is Wednesday night, so we've already been here for two days. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we'll be able to get some nice shots to share with you! You can learn more about Battery Kinzie here if you're interested.

Those trees make me feel that you could be right here in my town. Bournemouth is famous for the pines, which were thought to produce health giving air. I look forward to more pics!

Ooooh! I'm up past my bedtime, and so I'm making the best of it. When I saw the thumbnail, I was immediately reminded of those odd trees in Africa like lone umbrellas sprouting in the middle of the grasslands. When I zoomed in Full (a must for this shot) I realized that these are exactly the sorts of trees you'd see somewhere else...maybe somewhere Nemaean as Ilya contemplates serious bodily harm to someone likely provoked by whatever it is that Dorianna did to them (by accident, of course.) And I can tell that it's past my bedtime, because I'm making moderately-obscure comments and referencing untold Nemaean stories! But hey, this picture caused some creative stuff to percolate, and so that's always a good thing. And now that I've seen this, I'm gonna try to figure out what flat-top trees might possibly have to do with whatever it is that's oozing through my creative synapses now.

The shapes of the trees are wonderful, but it's that subtle golden light on them that really draws me; excellent capture, Tara, and have a great time out and about exploring!

OH What lovely trees. We have some that look like them but I am not sure thay are the same. Maybe ours are just very old pines, but I love how they look.

The best part must be 'the unlimited time' aspect, half your luck Tara & Bill, and what a gorgeous presentation of these trees, something I have seen many moons ago in Southern Italy, a lovely reminder - thanks for the memories, BB BTW also a big thank you for the 'blog-trip' - I will respond to that at a later time, still catching up with 3 weeks neglected garden work, oh weh! ;)

Wow, I've just spent 15 minutes, er, maybe 20 on the link. No wonder I don't get much commenting done:) Love the tall stately trees!
