Description

Believe this is a paper wasp. This shot was in the cool of morning after a rain last night. Thanks for looking.. Bruce Update on the converter- I received my converter for the 50mm lens. After some test shots, the lens and converter alone are just about the same magnification that I had with the lens and close up filters alone. But I do have about twice the working distance and the clarity is much better than the50MM + close up filters had. The good thing is, I can still use the close up filters along with the converter+lens for even closer shots. But I still have to work on getting the flash/diffusion better as the converter adds about and inch to the length of the lens.

Fantastic macro and excellent title!it is amazing how the yellow dominates the image and match perfectly with the background and the black of the wasp!

you need my 180mm macro lens(for Canon). if you can hold it steady it is one heck of a lens this critter maybe a fly mimic versus a wasp.outstanding clarity

Richard, The length of that lens is why I will stick with my set up. That thing is too long to hold steady. And I am getting 1:1 on this set up. So its all good. And not a mimic, I am positive this is a Paper Wasp.
