Hi! My name is Ed and I am just getting back in to photography. I have been taking pictures since the late 60's but kind of stopped for almost 30 years. I took mostly point and shoot pictures for years and decided to get back into a little more hands on photography.
I just got a Nikon D5100 with a 18-55mm lens and a 70-300mm Telephoto lens. I plan on getting some filter for both and doing a little experimentation with them.
I am interested in all types of photography, but lean towards landscape and trick photography. Â I also would like to try HDR in the future.Â
I would appreciate any feed back that I can get as this will help me fine tune my skills.
Unless stated, all photos are straight from the camera with no Photoshop manipulation.

These ships are so amazingly ginormous! Like a city that moves...great capture!

Oh, my. Tourist TRAP when it capsizes. Tall, wide box top, narrow bottom. What education do the designers have? And you've got the instability right on in this photo. Titanic II? Good photo! Keep up the good work! :-)

Superb pic of this lovely cruise ship.

Impressive pov which emphasize the mammoth size of this thing. I'm not into cruises at all, so this looks more like one of Darth Vader's evil imperial battle cruisers than a pleasant experience to me...

THE FUTURE OF KEEPING THE RICH, "VERY RICH" A very Sci-fi shot

Hideous floating hotel city! But a superb pic!

People don't realize how 'lawless' these floating cities are. If a crime occurs against you at sea, your own countries police force is the other side of the earth and the security on board is traditionally woeful.

If the shoe fits, wear it!

Aluminum upperworks will help with the stability by lowering the metacentric height. However, clever as the designes are, these ships definitely put the U into ugly.

I have never been on a cruise ship...BUT I am always wide open to try anything at least once! Seems like some of our fellow photogs feel differently. I can see myself sunning on a deck chair just enjoying the rays:)

I've never been on a cruise, but I think taking the ferry from Bellingham to Ketchikan is more my speed. :P You can get a stateroom on the ferry, it's very informal, and it's nowhere near as big. These big cruise ships seem so overwhelming to me! Your image conveys that feeling perfectly. What a fine image! (Hug those boys for me, would you? I'm in Grandma withdrawl! LOL!)
