Description

First of all: See this FULL SIZE. Trust me, it will scare away cornea problems, eye-diseases, whatever... Second: I'm doing legal stuff for my Dad, and I thought I'd look through my archives & find something 'fun' to post. Just to say 'hi'... Well, I found this. And what's scary: It was in a folder called "Andrea Stuff". Andrea: Did I give you this??? Tell me I didn't! I think it was a prototype for a gift---yes? (Help me out here---I'd never give you anything that would scare your pets, right?) Well, if this was for Andrea, here are my disclaimers: 1) I think the universe of Andrea, and would never do anything to harm her. 2) I don't drink, do drugs or get into trances: This wasn't done under the influence. 3) No fractals were harmed in the making of this piece. (It's all hand-painted in Photoshop. No fractals.) 4) I have a problem with Orbs. I'm presently in rehab & hope to have it solved by 2014... 5) Finally, if you print this & spread it along your floorboards? You'll never have insects again... (I'm hoping someone will say, "This is the greatest piece of art since the 14th C." Come on, it's not that bad...) Anyway... I figured we have to be honest & show all our artistic sides, right? So I'm posting this & asking that you take it in that light. It's from 2009. It must've been a strange year...
* * * I'll be back when I'm done with these Legalities! Have a fine weekend, Mark (I was gonna put this in Photography so all the photographers could say: "Where the hell did he see THAT???")

Hehe! I can only remember what I did this week because I keep a diary. Nothing sensational to read on the train, you understand, but just what I did. Which is remarkably boring to other people, but often a surprise a week later to me. SO I have no idea either! On full zoom I showed it to the littlle patch of Athletes Foot on my left sole and expect that to be gone in the morning. SUPERB!

One of your best, I tell ya and ya let it rotten in your old rusty folder for 3 freaking years. TSK TSK!! Well FINALLY it can see the daylight and be enjoyed by the world :) Thank you. It is wonderful. ;-) LOL!!! What you have written makes me chuckle :D

So nice to see your post today Mark, and I was blown away at just how epic it looks in full size view. Of course it gave me a chuckle to read about the effect you thought this would have on everyone. Instead this marvelous creation is extremely eye catching and draws you in. Knowing it was all hand painted makes it all the more a treat as it's easy to see the care you put into it

Let me guess. It is either what you see in the office of the ophthalmologist after he applies eye drops prior to an eye test, headlights or taillights seen through a windshield on a rainy night, or a galaxy run amok. Maybe that is how it looked just moments after the Big Bang. That said, outstanding colors and composition in this rendering of the orbs, having been long lost and forgotten in your 2009 files, Mark. Really impressive in a mind blowing way! LSD time.

Here I thought it was a microscopic photo of some kind of bacterial culture... I like your thought of putting it in the Photography genre. Always good to make people think! Beautiful work, Mark, and Harry's right, it does somewhat resemble a psychedelic light show from the 60s (Harry, how do you know about that kind of thing? LOL!!)

Orbs? Holy cow, that's ORBS! You will certainly be over your obsession soon, because there probably aren't any more orbs to be had! This is the whole thing when it comes to orbs. I LOVE it! Do you remember the old flash attachments that were round? That's what this makes me think of. It might not have, but you mentioned photography, and it triggered a flash bulb in my brain. (Stop it! Those things are bright!) Anyway ... I feel like some celebrity now, having had all those flash bulbs popping away at me. Brilliant white light in the center, dark on the ends, and beautiful all the way through. You could hook the sides together and spin it like a prayer wheel. (You HAVE to hire me to do your installations!) :D

I did as you said and zoomed first and I was amazed at what opened out before my eyes. I had my sunnies on [we have sunshine again today] so the effect didn't blind me or anything. I actually thought some of it was a fractal but read later that this wasn't so which makes it all the more awesome. A wonderful mixture of style, texture and colour to brighten my day. I love your notes and I do hope Andrea's patch of Athelete's foot gets cured after seeing this. Thank you for the laughter and the sharing, you've made my day.

I know exactly what these are--they're these little blobs you get in this strange little thing that has some kind of weird gel like liquid in it; when you push down on it, these kinds of shapes appear. So, you see, it's no mystery, and well it COULD be an orb, but I like blue blobs much better!

Now I just took some time (and I have plenty of that) to zoom on this beauty and take it all in slowly scanning from left to right and back again...slowly... I've concluded I like orbs too. Your greens, blues, magentas and oranges serve as frames for those brilliant orbs of light. When I see orbs I am always reminded of your art. Beyond these basic observations, I have no clue either:) Nicely done my friend.
