Description
We were coming back from the beach one evening and the moon was playing peek a boo in the trees.

Ooooohhh! I love the full moon, and I have yet to photograph it in so detailed a way. I think I need a more sensitive camera for that! (That's on my wish-list.) I really like the mood in this. I've been reading a bit of H.P. Lovecraft, recently (I'm currently reading his essay: "Supernatural Horror in Literature," and he has some interesting and highly-opinionated things to say about literature in general and the Gothic tradition running through much of what we recognize as horror.) As with your more golden photo, this one evoked a number of thoughts and one of them is how a "Gothic" photographer would pay dearly to take this shot and capture it so flawlessly. I love the full moon, and the silhouettes and the whispers and hints of blue in the sky. Darkness dominates this shot and yet it's rich and full of other things, and that just makes this whole photo really, truly evocative. This is one fantastic piece of photo work!
