I haven't been here since March - what did I miss? anybody got some news? I'm still Jobless, imagine that with this great world wide economy we have going - lol.... I haven't been around, but thought I'd post some pictures I've worked on the last couple weeks. DiviantART had a Barnabas Collins contest - I loved the old show when I was in grade school. Johnny Depp has the lead in the new movie released on May 11th.... anyway, I had to do all this homework gathering pictures for reference before I got started... right before, like hours before I started, I found out that the Original Barnabas (Jonathan Frid) had just passed - so it really felt weird to work on this art... the first few I did, I felt sluggish, kinda uninspired.... by the time I did my last one, I felt I had created a piece I will always be happy with..... The contest had thousands of entrees and 1st, 2nd and 3rd all recieved thousands of dollars - but the neat thing was is that DiviantART was to pick 10 that they thought were the best and TIM BURTON would pick the top 3.... Needless to say I wanted to be able to hang a piece of my art in my house that said Tim Burton picked this.... well, none of my pieces were picked for the top 10.... My last image which I'll post in a few days I put Tim Burton in the scene - that was my favorite one
anyway, I hope you're all do'n good, I plan on posting for the next few days and then I need to go back to what I was doing.... so what's been happen'n???

I'm also glad to see your are back. Not happy to hear the bad news about the job scene..:(.... This is one excellant portratit and work of art...I would still print it up and hand it on your wall..Alot of work and it shows..

This really turned out great Mike, I can't get over how much he looks like the picture of Barnabas. If I had my way you would've won that contest with this one, and I hope you'll share the rest of the images with us also. It was great to hear from you, and I'll keep you in my prayers that a job will turn up soon.

dark shadows was a huge fave of mine as a kid Mike, wish i had this image to use in the one i'm posting for you tonight for your birthday. hope az partsmaster gives you the job, as far as i know they have not hired anybody yet my friend. thanks for creating this awesome piece/steve

Good stuff. Print it, hang it and tell the story about Tim Burton failing to like this fine piece of art :) Bad news on the job front but a little birdie tells me your luck will change soon. As for what's happening, in the UK I'm still attempting to develop the best party trick in the world, which is climbing a wall using only my lips.

This is so awesome! I wish you could get a job doing this kind of stuf...then again I wish all the artists here could... Not much going on my end, still trying to get back into it myself. I am working on something right now that includes Poser (7), but because of all nodes and %^&*@ is turning into a little female dog.

Watched the TV series growing up....didn't miss an episode....Sad to hear he had passed ...Depp turned it into a comedy....should prove interesting!....Nothing new on my end to report....basically boring with an occasional gust of enthusiasm....lol....

A wonderful likeness you have created and it would have won if I had been the judge. I am trying to learn Daz too and Bryce and Hexagon and all sorts of other things too. My brain is getting fogged up I reckon. One day I will produce an image from each, well maybe... I'm sorry to hear that you haven't had any luck in getting a new job, I just wish you could get one in Art as your work is amazing.

I think they should have picked yours in that 10, this is really great. Very original and I love the style that you used for it. The new movie doesn't seem to have a lot in common with the old show though. I'm learning modeling now, so my render time has been cut a little. Working at the same job, which isn't bad at all. Hoping that you hear good news soon Mike on something for yourself.

that the one we were talking about,came out great bro. good luck with the job. in spain now almost 25% of jobless.eacht 4th youth no job.brilliant future ahead. i guess ute and me might move sooner back to our homeland than previewed. i keep you posted.

After being a skeptic of Johnny Depp's some years ago, I just happened to watch a film that he starred in and his skill as an enormously talented actor, changed my opinion totally. You can be sure, that now I will always be eager to watch a film with him as an actor. I totally am convinced by this as a formal piece of promotional media with respect to Johnnny Depp Mike.
