Description
Buncom is a very small ghost town in the Applegate Valley - only three wooden buildings remain - that was established when gold was discovered in southern Oregon in 1854. This is the cookhouse & the other two buildings are the bunkhouse & a post office. Buncom Day this year is on May 26th & is a fun community event with food, costumes, pony rides for kids, etc. You can find out more about Buncom at buncom.org.

Great composition, and I love your postwork. Perfect for this scene!

What a great spot. One of those trees could turn that cabin to kindling.

Awesome work on this beautiful scene

Excellent shot, the tall imposing trees that dwarf the cabin, nicely done!

I love the way this crosses visual media...that's one of the joys of postworking a photo...you can do so much and express so many different things! I tend to like that cross medium thing, especially if a photograph begins to resemble a painting, something out of a graphic novel, or even a totally-abstract thingie, and you pull that effect off brilliantly, here. I often think that with photography you capture a thing and with postwork you bring out the essence of that thing, though the more tweaking you do, the more it begins to look like itself again. I just love it when that happens! As for this work, the composition is marvelous as is the use of light and color! This is superb!
