Description

We have plenty of these big snails in the garden. Mostly in the area where there has been a little marsh once and there are now a few fruit trees. SO if you are in need for eating snails, we can deliver LOL! I could easily fill a bucket. :) Have a wonderful day. We had superb weather today too. sunny and about 20C, which is ideal for me, Per and Magnus, these days when Per and I are working in the garden. As usual, Thank you for your always welcome viewing, commenting and fav to my previous post. :-)

Oh, what a marvelous creature! It would seem that such snails enjoy the land that was once a marsh. Maybe it's ancestral snail-land? I love the details in this photograph, especially the snail itself. The details just beneath the skin are super. I've never seen this type of snail before and I have to say it's quite a handsome specimen. I can't eat snails, however; I have a personal rule that I cannot eat something that I might want to keep as a pet. Oh, and I like the lichens and the algae-sort-of-greenish growth. Is it a type of moss or is it a land-dwelling algae? Whatever it is, it's lovely. I can almost smell that nice, garden scent.

Edible by whom?! NOT me for sure! Rosie is quite keen on snail which is why I have to do her with a special anti-parasite treatment every month, as they carry lungworm. The others aren't interested, thankfully! A really SUPERB portrait of this creature.

Excellent shot - wonder what a Danish snail would taste like in a little garlic butter ;)

I'll skip that meal, if you don't mind! I can't bring myself to eat something that slimes all over my garden and eats the flowers. It's a great shot, though!

Helle this is a really interesting looking snail, I have not seen one so pale looking before, but hey guess that is why he is an edible one. I really could not eat the little fella though, so you can take care of him in your garden if you don't mind lol. hugs Jane xx
