Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Lovely Andrea. They aren't in our garden this year but we have a couple of terrace boxes up for the sparrows and have four out of six occupied. We also have a blackbirds nest but a crow robbed that one!

Bluetits? I don't think I've ever seen any that color, even in sketching nude models...(lol). You acquired a good POV in this shot of the Easterlike eggs and the little hatchlings, Andrea. The nest was built with loving care and looks most comfortable.

Aww, sweet shot!

Oh my! poor dears need a blanket for the cool nights! I had no idea these birds would lay that many eggs! Wonder if that female is now rethinking the number of eggs and wondering how on earth she's going to feed that brood of chicks??

This is genius. I feel like the one in the middle, most days. We have crows nesting on a ledge outside our office at work; unfortunately it's against regs to take cameras into work, but I need to get a photo like this. What's a job anyway? Thanks for sharing!

That nest looks so warm and cosy.

Vulnerable little things, I am reminded of the little one I tried desperately to hand rear and failed.
