Description

Captured on my second visit to the all glass edifice, 6/9/09, early in the morning, about 1.5 miles from my habitual habitat. Dramatically digifiddled, and verifiably ZOOM worthy. I had to tone down the brightness and balance the contrast in several of these fotos because the reflection off the building had overwhelmed my camera. And the reflection of the clouds often gave the impression that the building was constructed of aluminum foil. See ya, thankx for coming by, and for any and all favs and noncritical comments.

Fantastic work on editing this one Harry. While in London, we had this HUGE glass building we just had to get shots of...we took several shots at different angles just in case we got washed out by the sun...lol So I hear what your saying. Hope your doing well.

It's the clouds moving across the face of these buildings that's so dramatic, as if the building is transparent...Fantastic capture, Harry, and your postwork is excellent!

I find reflection shots a constant challenge, and as living near so many high rises, they call out to me constantly, more than I'm sometimes equipped to handle. But your reflection shots, throughout your gallery, have been uniformly excellent. The phenomenon of glass looking like aluminum (or other metal) seems indigenous to the art, as glass is always being transformed by whatever's around it. And here, the building is turned into a single sheet of reflective material, as the clouds 'unify' all those panes. And because the panes show a different cloud-mass than the mass that surrounds the building, we get two alternate realities. To me, that's one of the essences of reflection shots: ie, they bring two or more worlds into one, a 'collision' of different realities. (That's a bit sci fi-ish, but I think it's true. And all your reflection shots show that very clearly.) The clouds around this bldg are big bold light-frames! And your angle gives us two reflections---one (the left-most) more blueish than the other. FIne choice, and fine reflection work, once more.

I like the cloud reflections Harry and also that you caught the trees for some contrast!
