This was a Challenge entry over at RDNA. It got 2nd place.
I love Carrara's dynamic hair as fur. The idea for this image came to me because of the realistic way in which Carrara lights interact with dynamic hair -- this image is hinged on the realistic back-light of the fur and the effect was perfect straight out of Carrara.
The rain is part post, part 3d, which was invaluable for a realistic DOF of the rain. The only post here is just the splatters on ground and leaves, some thinner raindrop effects and the DOF. The rest is all Carrara.
