Description

This was a quick image in Carrara. Nothing fancy, pretty much no Post whatsoever (I only had to re-introduce the backdrop, because even though it rendered to screen, it didn't get saved in the PSD file for some reason, which had a transparent background instead... go figure...). I had this idea over the weekend, and threw things together, because the idea just wouldn't go away for some reason. However, even though the image looks like the idea I had, I am unsatisfied with it, and can't really figure out why... Therefore, I would greatly appreciate critique. The more you can throw at me, the better, because any suggesting, however random, might prove useful in pointing me in the direction of the cause for my dissatisfaction. Thank you for viewing the image, and as always, I very much appreciate your comments.

I'm not sure what you might be dissatified with as it looks quite good to me. While though she does look to have an uncomfortable perch I love the deep rich colors and the Art Noveau influences involved... the SP and Deco go together quite harmoniously. I'd love to see what you come up with if you rework it though... ;)

I love the colors - mostly, the background and the figure really work well together. Gears are SOOO cool. Her wild hair and blowing skirt work well. The light in the center works well. The orange string thing does not read well and doesn't help or hurt, just confuses. The pose is fantastic. The wing things and general composition is pure magic. I don't like the blue/grey clock face - I do not know what color it should be, but I don't like the current color. I love her expression and her clothes. The hands of the clock should be towards the 7 to line up with her toes, High noon does not work. This image is utterly stunning!!!! In fact, I think something must be WRONG with you to not like it!!!! STUNNING.

This is an awesome image. I don't know why you don't like it. It is very unique and wonderfully executed. I agree the Steam Punk and Art Nouveau go wonderfully well together! Love the colors too!!

I think it's a fantastic piece & very well thought out. If you are unhappy with the image still yet, might I suggest desaturating the colors of your figure a bit, 'specially the flesh tones. Since the colors of the flesh do not appear elsewhere in the image, a pale version would still stand out quite nice. Personally, I would call it done and put it away. If you open it up in a few months or years & still feel the need to make adjustments, just please remember to post them for us:) Great Job!
