Description

I spent this weekend at the Wichita Mountain Wildlife Refuge near Lawton Oklahoma USA. It had been photographically speaking a productive two days. So I thought about when I got up this morning starting for home. Yesterday was beautiful but no clouds, hot and by 7:30am the Sun was already giving out very harsh light. I was trying to shot mainly wildlife this trip so with a little creativity and a couple of rock dwellers it was OK. I'll show them later. I got up this morning to an over cast sky and clouds from an approaching storm I couldn't go home this morning without making one last trip to the refuge. Started shooting around 6:15am and was on my way back to Medicine Park a little tourist town right outside the refuge that I love too go to around 7:30am, and make one last drive through before start for home. When I found Mt Scott open before 8am, usually it doesn't open until 9am, cool, back up I went. This is from the top of MT. Scott over looking Lake Latonka, to the right the north edge of Medicine Park. thanks for stopping by and for any comments you should care to leave each one is greatly appreciated. Thanks for the favs. on my last post also greatly appreciated.

Wow, I love how despite the deep overcast you brought out such rich beauty in the landscape. The foreground is truely a work of fantasy design.

I have only been there in full daylight, I love this early morning light and clarity you've captured. I hope you enjoyed my "home". I grew up there and on most days could see flat-topped Mt.Scott from the top of my cottonwood tree 30 miles away (yes, I was a tom-boy and an expert tree climber growing up in Lawton). Spent many many days in Medicine Creek as a kid and at the little store called "Happy Hollow" that friends of friends owned. I'd help catch scorpions and tarantulas that the owner encased in acrylic and sold for paperweights (and even spent the night there a couple times). Happy happy times. One of my images here is also from the top of Mt.Scott - http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=1348122&user_id=472002&np&np Thanks for sharing I look forward to more~!
